Arena of Valor 2022 esports expansion update

The Arena of Valor 2022 eSports expansion will take the game in a new direction. Tencent will invest in the gaming esports ecosystem on multiple levels. Arena of Valor isn’t entirely new to western esports. You have hosted events in the past. However, these did not go so well. They were only sparsely visited and viewed. With the game not really gaining traction, esports have been scaled down quite a bit here. However, mobile gaming has since grown in the west.

What specifically seems to have brought attention back to the game is the launch of Wild Rift. Arena of Valor has always looked pretty much like a mobile League of Legends game. The similarity has even resulted in the title having completely different characters and names in different regions. With the actual LoL franchise now offering a mobile version, Tencent has decided that Arena of Valor has even more room to grow.

Levels of Arena of Valor 2022 Esports

In 2022, the Arena of Valorant esports environment will be divided into five distinct phases in 2022. These are the stages that take place:

  • Open to all amateur tournaments – Grassroots football for the tournaments. It will be local events with aspiring players. The leagues are expanding to Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, North America, and South America. This is definitely the lowest level of gameplay, but an important part of building a stronger and fuller esports scene.
  • Regional Cups – These are essentially the semi-professional phase of the events. These are played for the players who really excel in the Open for all amateur levels.
  • AoV Pro Leagues – This is where we begin to get into what already exists for the game. These will likely be similar to those that already exist in Asia. This time, however, they will run in more regions.

AWC and AIC – Top Competitions for Arena of Valor 2022 Esports

The AWC and AIC are both making a return in 2022. However, these will be larger than in previous years. They are the international events for the game. They bring together the top players from around the world with the largest prize pools on offer. The AIC will take place in June 2022, the AWC in October.

The AIC will have a prize pool of $ 2 million, significantly more than the X amount of 2021. This will be a tournament between the teams that top the rankings by mid-year.

The AWC will be the biggest event of the season. The prize pool here rises to $ 10 million. This is the largest prize pool in all of mobile esports. The 16 best teams compete against each other. All teams that qualify here will receive a minimum of $ 250,000. The prize money increases depending on the destination.

Arena of Valor 2022 Esports Expansion – The Game Itself

Arena of Valor as a whole is undergoing a few changes in 2022. The game will be unified with the other versions of the game. The title currently has a slightly different build depending on where you get it, and a completely different name and skin. These games are combined as an Esports version that features a combined pool of heroes and content.

This expansion for Arena of Valor will definitely make the game more competitive. It’s great to see publishers put their money where their lips are, funding the game in full internationally while just promoting it. This will be one of the most expensive years to date for mobile esports. However, the fans have to see if that pays off for the team.
