Rainbow Six wrapped up the last major event of 2021 with the Six Invitational, won by Ninjas In Pajamas. It pitted some of Rainbow Six’s best stacked players against one another. However, the New Year’s events are already starting and there are already players who have shown their talent throughout the game.

If you’re looking at betting on Rainbow Six or just paying attention to which teams are worth watching, it can be helpful to take a look at the top R6 players to watch in 2022 and how cut them independently.

Deciding who are the best R6 players in 2022 is not the easiest task. This is definitely a team game. No individual player can succeed without a great squad and coordination. However, individual metrics and performance can be viewed to highlight players. This list isn’t entirely objective just because it’s difficult to separate a player from the roster. However, looking at the available metrics and performance, these are definitely some highlights worth watching.

Rainbow Six – Six invite players to watch

Throughout 2022 there will be many great teams competing in Rainbow Six. There have also been great performances from many players in recent events. However, among these teams there are some that really stand out. Some players are sure to make an impression given their recent performances next year. If you’re looking for individual players, these are the best R6 players to watch in 2022:

5. Canadian – Space Station Games

Troy “Canadian” Yaroslavski returned to the game just months after announcing his retirement from the title. Because of teammate Luke “Luke” Slota faced passport issues ahead of the SI 2021 event, the Canadian had to put his retirement on hold and lend his expertise to his former squad. This made him one of the most anticipated players at the Six Invitational, but mostly because of the history that came with him.

He’s a player who retired from Rainbow Six after claiming he “no longer has the same passion and motivation for the game”. In the past he had been a two-time world champion. He hasn’t placed quite as well in the more recent tournaments, but he’s still one of the strongest players in the game. Despite the ups and downs, the Canadian’s unique story and history with the game make him one of the R6 players to watch in 2022.

4. Muzi – Ninjas in pajamas

Muzi is a particularly talented player, but he comes from a region that doesn’t usually draw the most attention. This might make him a bit of an unknown to the game, but he’s an important part of one of the best teams in the game right now.

Muzi was part of the NiP team that won the last Six Invitational. His role on the team is an Entry Fragger. That’s not as important as Psycho. However, he was an important part of the win and is currently one of the best entry fraggers around. As reigning champions, Muzi has a lot to accomplish over the course of the year. However, given his former strength, he still looks like one of the best R6 players to see in 2022.

3. Shaiiko – BDS Esports

Stephen “Shaiko” Lebleu has one of the most interesting redemption stories in competitive Rainbow Six. He was banned from the competitive circuit for the game for two years between 2017 and 2019 for using macros. Despite the “cheating,” he was easily one of the best up-and-coming talents the game has seen and having returned to the scene with BDS-eSports.

Shaiiko has helped BDS stay at the top of the Rainbow Six team leaderboard. They didn’t do as well at the last Six Invitational. However, Shaiiko’s skill has seen the team produce good results over the long term.

2. Paluh – Team Liquid

Paluh has been one of the best players in Rainbow Six in recent tournaments and games. He is a Brazilian player who is currently part of Team Liquid. In the past this team has prizes like 2nd at the 2021 Six Invitational, 3-4th at the Six Mexico Major 2021 and 1St at the Brasileirao 2021 final, one of the most recent events.

Paluh’s team didn’t win the prize at the Six Invitational. However, Paluh himself finished the event with some of the best stats. He even won the MVP award for the entire tournament. This is definitely a testament to the player’s potential. While his team didn’t quite come together for the finals, Paluh’s personal performance sets him apart as one of the best Rainbow Six players to see in 2022.

1. Psycho – Ninjas in pajamas

Psycho is a player who has made a huge impact in the last six Invitationals. He has been active in the game since 2017 and has played for Ninjas in Pajamas since 2018. Psycho has played a big part in the team’s recent successes. His current role is an in-game leader for the team. In that role, he was a sizeable part of NiP emerging victorious at the 2021 Six Invitational.

Helping his team win the biggest event of the year in Rainbow Six definitely makes Pyscho one of the best R6 players to watch in 2022. He has had some great successes in the past, but these recent successes earn Psycho his place here.

These players are all standout players for the upcoming rounds of Rainbow Six. There seem to be a lot of big events on the horizon for the game, with more personal offline events than we’ve seen in a while. These are the players to keep an eye on when looking to bet on Rainbow Six, but make sure you get the best odds on the sport to get the most out of them.

Here is our archived ranking for the best Rainbow Six players of 2021. You can review it to see how the rankings have changed and which players have moved up and down the rankings.

1. Canadian – Spacestation Gaming

Troy “Canadian” Yaroslavski returns to the game just months after announcing his retirement from the title. Because of teammate Luke “Luke” Slota faced passport issues ahead of the SI 2021 event, the Canadian had to put his retirement on hold and lend his expertise to his former squad. This made him one of the most anticipated players at the Six Invitational, but mostly because of the story that comes with him.

He is a player who retired from Rainbow Six following his claim he “no longer has the same passion and motivation for the game”. His two-time world champion comes with some anticipation as he returns to crack once more at the event he missed. Will this be a great return for the player or should he have stayed retired?

Either way, he’s definitely a player to watch at this event.

2. Shaiiko – BDS esports

While we delve into the returning Six Invitational players, Stéphane “Shaiko” Lebleu has one of the most interesting redemption stories in competitive Rainbow Six. He was banned from the competitive circuit for the game for two years between 2017 and 2019 for using macros.

Despite the “cheating,” he was by far one of the best emerging players the game has ever seen, and after returning to the scene with BDS-Esports, Shaiiko has helped BDS for the last two straight seasons in the competitive R6 to stay at the top of the world. With BDS considered the main favorite and the event taking place on home territory for Shaiiko, he’s certainly one of the six Six Invitational players to watch.

3. Njr – DarkZero Esports

Njr is one of the younger players to appear in Rainbow Six. He has proven to be a mechanically skilled player, and his raw mechanics and in-game skill are clear. Whether that leads to victory at the Six Invitational depends on his team, but he’s definitely a contender for one of the top players.

Having only joined DarkZero in February 2021, this will be his first Six Invitational as he represents a new generation of players coming onto the scene with a lot to prove.

4. HysteRiX – Giants Gaming

jeremy “HysteRiX” Mao Xuan Tan is a player who is easy to challenge when looking for people who will appear at the tournament. The Singaporean prodigy is one of the most impressive players out there, with a great kill average over the last couple of tournaments in terms of stats. If his team can make a similar contribution, he will be one of the top six invitees.

Giants Gaming has struggled so far this year, and SI 2021 is the best moment for a redemption arc for both HysteRiX and its crew.

5. JRDN – Giants Gaming

JRDN is a type of player who always entertains in sports. He’s young, he’s a little prodigy and only just old enough to attend these events. Despite having less experience, he is by far one of the most technically gifted players out there. As part of Giants Gaming, he will definitely be one of the Six Invitational players to watch.

Along with HysterRiX, they feed each other with the energy to build both the former Aerowolf and today’s Giants.

6. Muzi – Ninjas in pajamas

Muzi is a particularly talented player, but he comes from a region that doesn’t usually draw the most attention. This could make him a bit of an unknown at this event. He was part of a great team and really raised the standard for performance. This whole team has to be watched, but Muzi is definitely an outstanding player.

With NiP topping their group at the recent Copa Elite Six, we’ve seen a lot of what Muzi and the squad as a whole are capable of. If they can match their energy at the Six Invitational, it will be a sight to behold.
