BLAST Premier Spring 2022 – Betting Tips and Schedule

BLAST Premier Spring is one of the two seasonal CS:GO competitive events in the BLAST ecosystem. The entire circuit gets a boost in prize money this time, with a total prize pool of $2,475,000. The format of this year’s event is quite similar to last year’s format.

However, if you’re hoping to join in, there are a few key differences in how it works that you should be aware of.

This year, the BLAST Premier Event will be played online in some phases. This comes with a regional breakdown for this phase of the event. This event is one of the biggest for CS:GO. Teams compete for prize money and advance to the Global Finals for the winner. As is tradition with all BLAST events, the top teams will also earn points towards the BLAST leaderboard.

BLAST Premier Spring 2022 Stages, Format & Teams

The BLAST Premier Event has been expanded for the Spring and Fall Showdowns. More teams will now take part in the competition, giving even more players a chance to make it to the end. The format has also been changed to limit the number of games each team plays per day to limit player exposure a bit.

There were also some changes to the BLAST ruleset:

  • No mollies are forbidden.
  • “10.6 – Game Interruptions” have been simplified.
  • All sprays in the game are now allowed.

BLAST Premier Spring 2022 Groups

The BLAST Premier Spring 2022 event begins with the Spring Groups, followed by the Showdowns and finally the Finals. However, the groups and showdowns saw some format changes from previous years.

Teams play in three groups of four in a best-of-1 double-elimination group stage. This decides which seat they are seated in for the stage. Only the winners of this long gauntlet advance to the finals. Second and third must enter a playoff match to compete for their spot.

The spring groups will take place online in 2022. However, it looks like that will change for more Premier Series tournaments throughout the year. Six teams will advance from the first phase of Spring Groups to Showdowns.
