How to hide your email address in iOS 15

Apple’s updated cloud service iCloud+, released as part of iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and macOS Monterey, offers some important privacy-focused upgrades for paying subscribers. Bundled as part of the standard iCloud subscription, iCloud+ introduces Private Relay — which essentially works as a VPN — and Hide My Email.

The latter has been available in recent years as part of the Sign In With Apple service and offers a randomly generated alias email address that can be sent to websites and services instead of your real email address. However, it is taken to the next level in iOS 15.

Instead of just being limited to signing in with Apple, Hide My Email lets you create a series of alias emails on your iPhone. You can submit these email addresses instead of your real email address, have all messages forwarded to your primary email address, and if you find them getting annoying you can simply turn off the alias.
